Crystal is a very loving and compassionate person and when she gets close to someone she will stick up for them no matter what. She has a strong will and will do her best to protect her friends from any harm. But it can be quite difficult to get close to her due to her tendencies to be distant. People might feel that they are close but for her it would be a different story. She feels just because she’s nice and that others are nice back doesn’t mean they have earned her respect. Once they do something to earn her respect they better hold onto that because once it’s gone again, its bloody hard to get it back again.
And since her parents and her family put a curse on her and banished her to the human world she’s become more distant than she usually is. That moment in her left was so traumatic that it will be hard for her to open up about it to anyone. If she begins telling you all her hidden secrets and tells you everything about her, that’s when you know that you are really close with her. She also tends to be a bit sarcastic in situations she doesn't find interesting or just wants to get out of.
[ History ]
Childhood
Crystal is a Mermaid from a realm where the only way to get there it by opening a portal through a large body of water. She was born on June 15th, into a loving family. As a child her parents always noticed that she was gifted and it was rare for when a mermaid got special powers. From the day she was born she was able manipulate the water and water currents around her. But she didn’t learn that she had this ability until she was four. As she slowly grew up by the time she was age nine her parents had sent her across the ocean to a special school for mermaids and mermen like her. Where she could learn and harness her power. Though she wasn’t as quick to learn as most of the students there, she still tried her very best.
Teenager:
She continued her studied missing her family and friends. But sometimes she would break the rules and go up to the surface of the water by herself so she could think and sing. This helped her through her problems going on during her life at school and at home. Since at this time her family was having some financial problems and was fighting a lot. So she sang about it at the surface when one day she saw some bird people flying in the sky and she thought it was the coolest thing in the world. She ended up swimming over to a rock and sat on it looking up at the majestic creatures flying above her. One of them noticed her and swooped down and started talking to her and they ended up becoming friends. Little did either of them know that their kind was in an intense war and had been for several years.
But Soon after they met someone decided to follow Crystal to see where she had been going for hours during the day out of worry but mostly curiosity. When they found out what she had been doing she reported it to the mermaid council and her family was also notified. When she returned that night something worse happened than she could’ve ever imagined. They tied her up and forced her onto one of the tables as they all stared down at her with disgust. They murmured multiple insults and then started the torture. Trying to get out any information she had on the beasts that terrorized her people. But she stayed loyal to her friend and kept quiet, the torture continued until the council decided to put a curse on her that kept her on land for all eternity. It took a few hours for the curse to complete which it was excruciating for Crystal to go through but when it was, she was sent through a portal to earth, Naked and alone.
After a few days of walking by herself alone and cold until an elderly couple found her. Gave her food, water, clothed her, helped her learn to walk better and also run. They also gave her a place to sleep until she was well enough to go out on her own. While she was there she hardly spoke she just stared blankly into space. When they felt she was strong enough they gave her things to help her on the road and through her travels. The only words she spoke to them during that time was at the end before she left, “Thank you.” Was all she said as she left.
[ Attending the Academy ]
After she left the elderly couple she had went off travelling across the land searching for something new. For something to give her life purpose, someone she could meet who would become her friend. Eventually she recieved an invitation to Legacy Academy and she knew that this was that time. This was the time for her to start a new and make some friends, while learning how to control her powers better. She felt it couldn't go wrong in anyway. And since attending the academy she lost some weight and was able to get better at controlling her powers. So far there has been pretty good progess but she still hasn't made too many friends, or well anyone she considers friends.
[ Abilityies / Powers]
Water Manipulation:
-She can control and manipulate water and water currents. She’s trying to combine her martial arts with her water manipulation but she hasn’t quite figured out how to make it work yet. She mainly just stands in one place and uses the water to attack and defend but that leaves her with a lot of open spots to be attacked from. A few moves she can do it the water whip which is pretty self- explanatory. She can great a giant wave as long as she’s by a large body of water. And depending on the amount of water she has at her disposal it can either make it really weak, or really strong. But she has to be at least six feet by it to be able to manipulate it.
She can’t freeze the water like an ice mage, controlling the water is the only thing she can do, but eventually she will try to learn how to do that after she masters her water manipulation and her martial arts.
Martial Arts: She can do martial arts at the intermediate level but she is willing to learn more. She kind of forced herself to learn to protect herself in the human world. Since she is a decently quick learner she was able to pick up on it fast. Almost as fast as walking but when she had to learn how to walk, she was forced to learn.
She has her strengths and weaknesses she’s best at offence and has most difficulty defending and blocking oncoming combat attacks. But she is trying her best.

She doesn't really have any health problems but she had a couple scars on her thighs from the curse of getting her fins removed. Every time she takes a step her legs are still in quite a bit of pain due to the curse but its slowly going away, and since shes not quite use to her legs she still has a hard time performing martial arts with the use of her legs, since she was so use to doing it with her fins instead. But shes improving bit by bit the more she trains.
